IMG Artists Welcomes Countertenor Key’mon Murrah to our Roster for European Management

IMG Artists is delighted to welcome the 2023 First Prize Winner of the Giulio Gari Vocal Competition, countertenor Key’mon Murrah to our roster for European management. Key’mon is represented by Artist Manager Callan Coughlan.

Heralded by Opera News for the “resplendent, voluptuous tone throughout his enormous range and phrasing with the feel of fine silk,” Key’mon continues to garner international acclaim for his “vocal acrobatics” and “mature artistry.” Already performing on major stages around the world, he has quickly become one of the leading and versatile artists of this generation.

In the current season, Key’mon debuted with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl in performances of Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, led by Music Director Gustavo Dudamel. Further performances this season include the world premiere of Jake Heggie’s Earth 2.0 with the Fort Worth Symphony (and later performances with Grand Rapids Symphony) and a recital at the Kennedy Center as the 2024 recipient of the Marian Anderson Award. He also makes important debuts in France as Sesto in Giulio Cesare with Opéra National Capitole in Toulouse and as Sifare in Mozart’s Mitridate for Opéra Montpelier led by Philippe Jaroussky. He concludes the season with performances as Arbace in Artaserse with Haymarket Opera and a world premiere by Christopher Theofanidis, yet to be announced, at the Aspen Music Festival.

Key’mon said, “I’m so excited to be working with the team at IMGA and Callan Coughlan. They’ve had a long standing reputation for supporting their artists’ careers, and I know they will do the same for mine.”

Callan said, “It’s incredibly exciting to welcome the incomparable Key’mon Murrah to the roster at IMGA for European management. I had the pleasure of hearing Key’mon in Saint Louis last summer and was struck by his sheer vocal talent and innate musicality. Already working regularly in Europe, we look forward to helping him extend his reach to audiences across the continent.”

Recent highlights include debuts at the Metropolitan Opera in El Niño as Countertenor 1at Los Angeles Opera in El último sueño de Frida y Diego in the role of Leonardo, the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis in Giulio Cesare in the role of Tolomeo, and the New Jersey Symphony in Handel’s Messiah. These performances followed a summer of appearances in Europe, where Key’mon appeared with the Bayerische Staatsoper in Dido and Aeneas as the Sorceress, in concert at Oper Köln, and with Komische Oper Berlin as Hamor in Jeptha, for which the Morgen Post praised his “wonderfully supple voice.”

Recent achievements include being 1st Place Winner of Houston Grand Opera’s 33rd Annual Concert of Arias in 2021, the Grand Prize winner of the Premiere Opera Foundation + NYIOP International Vocal Competition, and a Finalist and Encouragement award winner of Operalia.
